RE: Stop the subversion of the U.S. Constitution!

Gentlemen,

Americans are paying attention, and you should be, too, because we are not going to let you trample our rights, steal our freedoms, and erode our country any longer.

We are united and we don't care if you identify yourself as a Republican, Democrat, or an Independent. Our only concern is that you make every effort to do your part to restore our rights and stop the systematic dismantling of our Constitution.

This week Americans learned that members of the New York City Police Department went outside their jurisdiction and subverted the Constitution to profile and spy on New York residents even though they hadn't committed any crime.

We cannot allow governing authorities to continue chipping away at our rights in the name of security.  As Benjamin Franklin once said: "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

And before Americans discovered the disturbing news about New York Authorities encroaching on our liberties, we watched the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) "See Something, Say Something," terrorist-watch videos that depict Americans as the new threat to our national security. These videos instruct Americans to profile and report on the activities of their fellow citizens.

We are losing our liberties; and our Fourth Amendment protections are being usurped by governing authorities - the U.S. Supreme Court, local law enforcement, the DHS, and the TSA.

This is why I'm asking that you support and vote for a bill that will immediately restore Americans' Fourth Amendment rights and protections against unwarranted searches and seizures of property, and police-state tactics – profiling and people mapping.

It is clear that the government has gone too far in dismantling our Fourth Amendment protections when they ask Americans to spy on each other and report the behaviors of a specific race or groups and classes of lawful American citizens.

We are calling on you to do the job you were elected to do. Vote to protect American citizens, and restore our Fourth Amendment rights.  While we are willing to operate by faith over experience for a while, we are not fools.  We wish for a peaceful return to organic Constitutional principles, and our elected representatives to honor their oaths of office to preserve, protect and defend the same.  Ignore this warning at your peril.
